MINT fellowships

MINT fellowships

The MINT fellowships are designed to support students willing to enter "PhD tracks" over at most 5 years (M1 + M2 + PhD Thesis), see the explanation of the French system. The fellowships are allocated on excellence criteria and addressed to both national and international students.

Every year MINT offers several M1 and M2 fellowships: for the first year of Master M1 (M1ESR) and second year M2 (M2RI). In addition, Torus actions, an artificial intelligence company offers an additional M2 fellowship.

Every year MINT and the doctoral school EDMITT offer several three-year Thesis fellowships (possibly co-funded). These fellowships usually start on October 1st.

MINT will also cover for registration fees at the university and for travel expenses, the latter in case of foreign students. Selected PhD students will also benefit from travel funding to attend conferences and other scientific events relevant for their research.

Our fellowships comfortably cover living expenses in Toulouse especially because they are compounded with housing benefits.

  • M1 fellowship: 1 000 € a month over 10 months

  • M2 fellowship: 1 200 € a month over 10 months

  • Thesis fellowship: gross salary of 2200€ a month over 36 months. In addition there are some teaching possibilities.

New for 2025-2026 for female students in L3 Mathématiques ER: CHOQUET-BRUHAT grants

From the start of the 2025 academic year, EUR MINT is offering to fund up to four scholarships a year for female students intending to enter the L3 Mathematics for Teaching and Research degree.

These scholarships are aimed at female students studying for a Licence 2 in mathematics or equivalent - in Toulouse or elsewhere - to give them the best possible conditions to succeed in their Licence 3 in mathematics in Toulouse. They are part of a drive to develop talent and, in the event of academic success, can be accompanied by integration into a graduate school programme that extends and reinforces this support throughout the Research Masters with a scholarship programme in M1 and M2. The students selected will receive personalised support throughout their undergraduate and Master's degrees.

The scholarship amounts to €6,000 net per year.
