CHOQUET-BRUHAT BursaryLicence 3 Mathematics Teaching and Research as part of the University Research School ‘Mathematics and Interactions in Toulouse’. 

From the start of the 2025 academic year, EUR MINT is offering to fund up to four scholarships a year for female students intending to enter the L3 Mathematics for Teaching and Research degree course.

           

These bursaries are aimed at female students in Licence 2 in mathematics or equivalent - in Toulouse and elsewhere - to provide them with excellent conditions to succeed in their Licence 3 in mathematics in Toulouse. They are part of a drive to promote talent and, in the event of academic success, can be accompanied by integration into a graduate school programme that extends and reinforces this support throughout the Research Masters with a scholarship programme in M1 and M2. The students selected will receive personalised support throughout their undergraduate and Master's degrees.

 

Terms and conditions of the scholarship

The scholarship amounts to €6,000 net per year;

Each winner will be offered a mathematician to act as a mentor for the duration of her studies.

Each successful candidate will embark on a research-oriented course in mathematics, with a prescribed minimum list of L3 teaching units in which she or he must enrol pedagogically

  • Normed vector space (S5)

  • Advanced groups and rings (S5)

  • Ordinary differential equation (S5)

  • Theory of measurement (S5)

  • Advanced continuous probability and statistics (S6)

The contents of the application are as follows

  • Copy of an identity document

  • Transcripts of marks from each institution previously attended during the first years of the Licence or equivalent.

  • A study plan: this document aims to explain who you are and what you expect from your higher education studies. Your interest in the field and your career objectives will be detailed.

 

Eligibility criteria

Any student with a second-year undergraduate degree or equivalent is eligible. All applications will be examined, and their quality, particularly in terms of the soundness of their mathematics training, will play a key role in the assessment process.

 

Selection process

Candidates are selected on the basis of academic criteria, as evidenced by their transcripts and the reasons given in their study plan. It is carried out by a jury appointed by the EUR steering committee and in agreement with the heads of the Licence 3 Enseignement et Recherche. The results will be sent by e-mail to the successful candidates approximately 2 weeks after the closing date for applications.
