On the harmonic oscillator
The (quantum) harmonic oscillator is a mathematical baby model describing quantum mechanical phenomena, but it is actually ubiquitous in mathematics. In this talk, I'll present a very simple (yet deep) fashion to diagonalize this selfadjoint operator. Depending on time, I'll try to mention relationships with various fields, such as symplectic geometry or probabilities. Only tools from L3 or, marginally, at most from the first semester of M1 will be used.
